Flesh was the UK’s first queer camping music festival held on the 28th and 29th of May 2022.

The two-day May event featured three stages showcasing House and Techno DJs alongside emerging artists and community collectives.

With another first, 100% of the lineup was made up of underrepresented artists. 90% of the lineup was women, trans and non-binary artists including a spectrum of ethnicities. As such, Flesh addressed the long-term issue of male dominated festival programming.

Flesh broke the cycle by allowing emerging and underrepresented talent to break through on a major platform. Being featured on a major festival line-up created visibility and generated bookings for the artists involved and set an example for other promoters to follow.

Many people talked about equality in electronic music but Flesh took real-life action to make it happen.
